How to score Rummy 500
- Play a hand until a player goes out under the chosen Rummy 500 rules.
- Total each player’s melded-card points and subtract unmelded cards left in hand.
- Enter each player’s net result; negative values are valid.
- After the hand, the highest total at or above 500 wins; if nobody reaches it, continue.

Scoring example
A player melds 45 points but keeps 18 points in hand: enter 27. Another player with no melds and 12 deadwood enters −12.
Variant notes
- Players score for cards melded and lose points for unmelded cards remaining when another player goes out.
- A hand can produce negative scores. The highest cumulative score at or above 500 wins after the hand is scored.
- Calculate meld values and leftover-card penalties from the chosen rules, then enter each player’s net hand result.
