How to score Nerts
- Give each player a separate standard deck and deal a 13-card Nerts pile.
- Play simultaneously to the shared center piles; count one point for each card you played there.
- Subtract two points for every card remaining in your Nerts pile, then enter each signed hand score.
- The first player to reach 100 or more wins after the complete hand.

Scoring example
A player played 12 center cards and has 3 cards left in their Nerts pile: 12 − (3 × 2) = 6 points.
Variant notes
- Score one point for each card played to the center and subtract two for each card left in the Nerts pile.
- A hand ends when a player empties their Nerts pile; total the hand, then reshuffle for the next hand. First to 100 wins after the hand.
- Play and card handling are simultaneous and remain at the table; scores are entered manually.
